This month’s box was all about being natural box which I found to be an interesting theme for the month of July. I would of thought the theme for the box would be waterproof summer makeup. In the humid weather makeup can just melt off your face, there is a good foundation out there that is sweatproof its Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation. I wore this foundation at my wedding, a music festival, and other events, it really holds up. Here are the items that I received in my box this month.
Butter London Natural Goddess Eyeshadow Palette
The palette contains six eyeshadows, its very good quality the eyeshadows are very buttery and pigmented. They are very easy to blend, my favorite shades are the lighter shades in the palette they are very work friendly.
Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask-
I was really excited to get this my box, I really like their products. In one of the earlier boxy charm boxes I got a collagen cream in it, which I used every morning I really enjoyed it. I have tried this mask a couple of times its really nice so far it leaves my feeling very soft, and hydrated. It contains good for you ingredients such as avocado, kale, chia seed oils, and more.
Koh Gen Do Spa Cleansing water cloths
These are nice thick cloths that remove makeup really well, however I think they are overpriced you can the makeup remover wipes from Neutrogena and save some money. I don’t typically don’t remove my makeup with wipes I use the Philosophy Purity Cleanser and my Luna Facial Cleansing Device.
Luxie Gaea Piece Brush Set
This set
comes a foundation brush, precision crease brush, and blending brush. I have
only used the foundation brush so far and I really like it. I use it to apply
skin masks, and I used this weekend to apply Boscia Black Charcoal Mask which
is black. After applying the mask I was immediately it cleaned really well. I
was afraid the mask my stain the brush bristles, but it didn’t.
Luna By Luna Lip Gloss in Mars
Its pretty gloss its non sticky, it has just the right amount of shimmer in it. Its work wear friendly, its currently in my purse, I have been wearing it to work. It last about three or fours on me which is fine for me, after about four hours its time for lunch. I reapply it again for the afternoon.
These
are the things that I got in my boxy charm for this month my favorite products
from box have to be the Elemis Veggie
Mask, the luxie brush set, and the luna lipgloss. What did you get in this
months boxy charm box ?
Its
currently crab fest at Red Lobster, I wanted some crab legs for my birthday which
next Tuesday. So this was early birthday present to myself, I got the crab
lovers dream dish it came with King crab, snow crabs, linguine with crab meat,
rice, and asparagus. It was all delicious my favorites were the crab legs. After
we finished our dinner, we stopped by TjMaxx and Walmart. We stopped by TjMaxx
to see if we could find a highchair or a booster seat for the baby. We did find
a booster seat for the baby, and I stopped by the beauty aisle.
I found a few things in the beauty aisle that I liked. Too Faced Bronzed Peach Melting Powder Bronzer in Toasted Peach- On my skin tone it shows up as a medium bronze, Im more olive skin toned. I swatched it on my hand its cream to powder formula, and dries down fast, the shade had some gold shimmers in it It also smells like peaches
Nars Highlighter in Albatross- its an opalescent golden highlighter, it has a beautiful golden sheen to it. I tend to gravitate towards highlighters gold shimmers in them, I think it looks more flattering on my skin.
Esfolio Egg Cleansing Foam- I really enjoy Korean skincare so when I saw this for only four dollars, I decided to try it out. I used it last night when I got home, I think it was nice gentle foaming cleanser.
Pearlessence Coconut and Rose Makeup Setting Spray- Since Im almost out of the Rimmel Stay Matte Makeup setting spray I decided to try this one. I tried it as soon as I got in the car, so far I like it. The sprayer produces a nice fine mist, and it has a floral scent to it. I got for six dollars not too bad.
I was pretty happy with all the deals I acquired at Tjmaxx
and my birthday dinner at Red Lobster.
As the weekend of the 4th of July comes to a close, I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend with family and friends. I would like to take moment and thank all the Veterans who have served our country. I cant believe July is already here the month of June flew by pretty quickly. My little one turned four months and she now eats solid foods. The weather in June was colder than usual, there were days I found myself wearing fleece pants on some days. Towards the end of the month it was humid, I kept my little one inside most of the time to avoid the warmer weather, and the heat has also dried out my skin especially on my face. Here is a cute pic of my forth month old.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation in Medium Tan- This is one of the few foundations that I tried that is actually hydrating, it helps keep my skin from flaking around my nose, my chin and the corners around the corners of my mouth. It also has SPF 50 which is great for the hot weather and protects my face from the sun. It also has lasting power it gets me through an eight-hour day at work.
Mac Cosmetics Face Powder in Here Comes Joy- I use this as a highlighter it gives me this golden glow. This came out a couple of years ago in 2017 for one of MACs holiday collections.
Maybelline
Strobing liquid in Deep Gold- I tried using this on its on own it would only
last on me for about an hour or two. I was disappointed in it because its very pretty
on my skin but the staying power is horrible.
Rimmel
Stay Matte 2 in 1 Primer setting spray- I use this to set my makeup I found it
did help my makeup stay I really disliked the sprayer that came with it, I felt
that didn’t really spray very well. I was wanting more of a finer mist.
Mario
Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater- I have not tried to many
of their products. I had tried a mini of the lavender spray and I loved it, I decided
to get this one because they nice size bottle of it compared to the lavender
one. This bottle is more than half way gone, it has nice sprayer which allows for
a finer mist which I really like. I find to be hydrating especially since Ohio
weather right now is very humid. The smell is a nice clean smell.
Butter London
Power Up Mascara in Power Black- This was in a past boxy luxe box, I have tried
to like it just doesn’t work for me all. I find after a couple of hours the
mascara smears on me, cant have that during a long work day.
Sunday Riley Juno Essential Face oil- Its made of cold pressed oils which in my opinion preserves the nutrients. On the bottle it says it helps restore moisture and gives you a healthy glow. This product has been a game changer in my skin care routine, I use day and night. I really have dehydrated skin, it gets worse in humid weather and very cold weather. If Ohio would stay 70 degrees year around my skin would be in better shape.
These are products that I have used and tried the most throughout the month of June. Not a ton of products, I don’t wear a ton of makeup especially during the summer, I don’t like my makeup to feel heavy. What were your favorites for the month of June?
I started subscribing to the Fab Fit Fun boxes back in October of last year, so my first box was the Fall 18 one with the Vince Camuto tote in brown. I was not sure when I got the first box how much I would use the products that were inside the box. To my surprise I find that I use most of the products that I get in each box, with some exceptions. In one box I got the swell water bottle, I don’t use all that much, sadly it stays in one of the pockets of swiss gear backpack for work. As I write this I realize that I don’t drink a ton of water, I should drink more than I am currently, and my work place provides free water.
In the Summer box I received several things I’m already using, I also had two add-ons to my package which was the Ciate Astrolights Jewelled Palette, and the Butter London Gel Highlighter in Champagne.
VIX Paula Hermanny
Lotus Towel- This one of the first things I took out of the box, I was kind of
surprised to get a towel in the box, its not something I was expecting. I think
its meant to be more of a beach towel, I use it as a regular towel. Being in
Southern Ohio there are hardly any beaches around me unless you want to go the
lake, Im not down for that. I ended up liking the towel its very cute.
Summer
& Rose Diamond Toted
This is a nice summery tote, Im actually using the bag as my everyday bag. The bag is pretty sturdy and it holds quite a bit. It fits my I Pad Pro the 12.9 inch one, I don’t have to many bags or totes in my collection that would fit my Ipad. I could also fit my laptop too that’s to much weight in one bag to carry around. I take my ipad to work, I have the apple pencil that goes with it, its wear I take all my notes on my ipad. I take two foreign languages, and Im going through firewall training currently. I was happy the bag was big enough for my ipad. I occasionally put my ipad in my backup with my work laptop and it hurts my back. This tote is sturdy, and the handles are very soft.
Odeme
What a Pair of 2 Silicone Wine Glasses
The ones I received the box were pink, they have a strong plastic smell when I opened them, I find that the scent goes away some after washing them. I washed mine with some Dawn and hot water, then I poured myself some Barefoot Pink Moscato wine. I’m taking them out next week with me to a 4th of July party that I always go to. I like that the glasses are silicone it makes them very durable and very portable friendly.
Intelligent
Nutrients Refining Micro polish
This a plant based micro polish, I like using skincare with plant-based ingredients, I don’t believe in harming helpless animals. I have tried this out a few times, it has jojoba beads in it which help exfoliate the skin, the beads are very gentle on the skin. I also have sensitive skin so I found that this didn’t break me out. If you have sensitive skin this would be a good fit for you.
Invisibobble Original
Duo Pack
I had seen these before in another magazine before and wanted to try them, but I could never find them where I live. So I was excited to get these in the box, they work really well especially since I have really thick hair.
Generation Clay
Ultra Brightening Face Purple Clay Face Mask-
I only tried this once it burned my skin immediately, I tried it again last night and it still burned my skin I don’t know why exactly. Im going to take a closer look at the ingredients to try to figure out why it burned my skin. This is odd I have tried dozens of skin care products, there have only been a random few that have burned my skin.
Grace and Stella
Rose Facial Spray
It’s a nice light spray that gives your face instant hydration.
Whish Exfoliating Foot Mask- I havent used it yet, I don’t have an opinion on yet. I did smell it, and it smelled like coconuts. I like anything that smells tropical especially during the summer.
Ciate Astrolights
Jewelled Palette- I seen this palette and the Astrolights Burnt palette, I
really liked both of the palettes. When I saw the Jewelled Palette on sale I
bought it, I intend to get the burnt palette too. I wore one of the shadows
from the palatte today to work, its really pigmented and has great staying
power, the shadows lasted more than eight hours on me with little fading.
Butter London Highlighting Gel in Champagne- Its beautiful lightweight highlighter, to me it seems like it has more of golden sheen, I find that the name Champagne doesn’t fit the product. When I think of champagne I think of a golden beige color.
Cuccio Cooling
Spot Therapy- This was the mystery item in my box. It says that its supposed to
relieve tension and stress after a long day. It’s a lightweight formula with
peppermint and green tea. The instructions say you can rub it on the back of
your neck and your temples. I use it at night after I get off work, when I lay
down on my pranamat, and I find it to be very relaxing.
These are the items I got in my box for Summer 19 what did you get in yours. Happy Friday Im glad it’s the weekend even though the heat index here in Southern Ohio is 95.
